FAQ

Questions families ask first.

If yours is not here, contact us and we'll answer it directly.

The academy

Who is the academy for?

Students who want live, structured mathematics instruction with measurable progress, and families who want to see that progress without having to ask. It is a full academy programme, not drop-in tutoring.

What grades do you serve?

Grades 8 through 11 today. Placement is decided by the free Math Snapshot rather than by grade alone.

Which subjects do you teach?

Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 now. Trigonometry, Precalculus, SAT Math and AP Calculus open as cohorts fill.

Is the academy nationwide?

Yes. Classes are live online, so students join from anywhere in the United States.

How do time zones work?

Each cohort has a fixed meeting time in a stated time zone, and your dashboard shows every class time converted for you. Cohorts are scheduled across Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific evenings.

Classes

How large are classes?

Each cohort has a maximum number of students set by the academy for that cohort — the limit is shown on the course page before you enroll.

Are classes live?

Yes. Every class is taught live by an instructor, with polls, chat, quick quizzes and worked problems. Students are solving, not just watching.

Is Zoom used?

Yes. Students join the class from their dashboard, which opens the cohort's Zoom meeting.

Are classes recorded?

Recordings are posted to the class session when the teacher makes one available, so a missed lesson can be caught up.

What happens if a student misses class?

The session is marked absent or excused, the recording and that week's practice stay available, and the next class opens with retrieval on the missed material. Nobody is penalised for a genuine technical problem — staff can correct any attendance record.

How does attendance work?

Attendance is recorded automatically from the live class: joining from the portal records the join, and the time attended is measured against the class length. The academy sets the thresholds for present, partial and late, and teachers or administrators can override a record with a reason, which is logged.

Progress

How do assessments work?

Each unit ends with a checkpoint taken without help. The score updates the student's mastery for those skills and the running course average, and the teacher can attach feedback.

How does the Daily Math Boost work?

About five minutes of practice, personalised from the student's course, level, topics studied, previous scores and the questions they got wrong. Every question comes from an approved question bank, and students do not get the same questions back.

How do parents track progress?

A parent account linked to your child shows attendance, current grade, assessment results, practice accuracy and streak, mastered topics, topics needing work, teacher feedback and upcoming classes — plus an automatic weekly summary.

Getting started

How does the free Math Snapshot work?

Your student takes a short adaptive assessment. We use the result to recommend the right course and to set the first practice plan. There is no cost and no obligation.

How does the scholarship work?

Students who attend a free masterclass can sit the scholarship challenge. Eligible top performers are awarded tuition scholarships under the published rules for that cycle, and every decision is reviewed and recorded by the academy. Results are never guaranteed, and a minor's name or score is never published without guardian permission.

What are the 2 free regular classes?

If a student attends the free masterclass and has not enrolled in the related course, they are offered two regular live classes free — no payment required for those two classes. It is a one-time offer for the relevant course and expires after the period set by the academy.

How does enrollment work?

Choose a course and cohort, complete checkout, and your place is confirmed once payment is verified on our side — never from the browser alone.

What happens after payment?

The student account is activated, a Student ID is issued, the course and cohort are assigned, the class schedule and join link appear on the dashboard, the Daily Math Boost starts, and the family receives an onboarding notification.

Billing

How do I cancel?

Cancel from your account or by contacting the office before the next billing date. Details of any notice period are stated on your plan at checkout.

What happens if payment fails?

You are notified and asked to update the payment method. Class access continues while the academy works with you to resolve it; the payment provider is the source of truth for payment status.

Where can I see current tuition?

On the pricing page. Plans, prices and billing frequency are maintained by the academy office and can change between terms.
